About Us
Lexi Arkain (she/her) - Programmer, Story writter
Dray Potts (they/them) - Artist, Musician
We have been friends for 25 years and worked together to come up with game concept and storyline ideas.
Dray
Dray Potts is a painter, photographer, printmaker, leatherworker, and teacher. They create works of both great beauty and powerful statements about life and our place in it together. I encourage you to visit Dray's website to see the enormous range of work they do and the tremendous skill and expression they bring to everything they create. Unfortunately our development timeline doesn't allow for the highest level of their talent to be showcased here, but this game will still have a beauty and richness that I think you will really enjoy.
Dray's Artist Statement
Art and music are part of life for me, as much as breathing. All in life is transient and therefore, to me, excruciatingly
beautiful. My creative expression is a response to that - it's an attempt to capture a moment of life's constant movement
before the moment changes. It is my way of telling the truth, of revealing all that is there, of celebrating and mourning
the moment as it passes, and of recognizing the significance of how each moment gives birth to the next. Life is a symphony,
and through my art, I strive to capture one fragment of a measure, with every note in that fragment included, as well as
the lingering hint of past sounds leading up to the moment, and the promise of those that might come after.
Dray's Inspiration
I am an artist and musician, but I am also an art teacher, and have been very into medieval re-enactment and history for
my entire adult life. My inspiration for this game comes from a passion for digging up the past, as well as being involved
in projects that are educational and have a positive impact on the world. I want the alien world that the player is
interacting with to feel real, so each plant and creature I created began with a concept that includes an entire internal
system that works to keep each one alive and able to reproduce. I have also recruited help from some experts to make sure
the in-game descriptions are as accurate as possible. This way, if desired, people playing our game have a chance to learn
a little bit about how our knowledge of biology and geology on earth would apply on this alien planet. The player is a
xeno-archeologist, which is a pretty specific scientifically based profession, so it was important to me to get as much
right as I could.
I also have been inspired by the idea of the ‘lonely wanderer’ for my entire life. There is a solace and a pain in being
estranged in a beautiful world with no one there to share the experience. There are many games currently that embrace
this idea, and I have been inspired by quite a few of them. The Long Dark, and No Man’s Sky are two of my top favorites.
Our game is different in many ways from those. First of all, it is not nearly as dangerous as either of them, and can be
played by humans of any age, as long as they can read English. In our game, my goal was to give the player a sense of both
joy and despair. There is a hopelessness in being lost, but there are great joys in the freedom and discovery of a new
world, and what I attempted to create was a place where these deeper emotions can be explored along with the landscape.

Lexi
I am a software developer with a very diverse programming background. My degree is in a science field and I worked in that field before becoming focused on programming. Science is still something I love and continue to explore.
Lexi's Writer Statement
When we came up with the idea for this game I thought we would sketch out an outline and build the story within the game
from there, but that's not really how my process works so I asked Dray if it would be ok if I approached it more like
a real story - choose a character, give her a name, write it from her perspective. Dray agreed and as I handed them page
after page and they liked what they read the story grew. Dray offered suggestions and asked for certain things to be
expanded and the story got better. By the time I reached the end, we had a full 22k word novella. We hope you enjoy it
as much as we do.
Lexi's Inspiration
The pleasure of being in the woods. My love of history. My experience of doing science on a large team and being part
of something bigger than all of us. All of the great writers whos words have helped me find my own. The comfort I
find in good food, a cup of tea, a cozy arm chair, and the quiet, steady companionship of an animal friend.
